Newark, DE – ChristianaCare is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for our 26-bed Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit (CVCC). In this leadership role, you will partner with the Nurse Manager to support the clinical, operational, and administrative functions of the department, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care for critically ill cardiac medical and surgical patients within a Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all nursing and technical personnel: assess competency of staff, oversee daily staffing and scheduling needs, evaluate staff performance, and counsel/coach staff as needed.
- Participate in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
- Function as a role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors.
- Direct, mentor, and support all levels of staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Identify and develop strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
- Analyze administrative and operational functions; implement appropriate changes and system-wide improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
- Master's degree in nursing, healthcare, or business management required or currently enrolled to be obtained within 5 years of promotion into the position. (If no BSN, a Master's degree in nursing is required).
- 3–5 years of clinical and leadership experience in the specialty or related area.
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty required.
- Current nursing licensure in the State of Delaware or a compact state.

Pay
Hourly pay range: $52.97 – $84.75. The actual salary offered within this range will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications.
Schedule
- Full-time, 80 hours per pay period.
- Option of (5) 8-hour shifts or (4) 10-hour shifts.
- Weekends and holidays as required by department needs.
