About the Role

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager in both clinical and administrative activities for the 29-bed Stroke Treatment & Recovery (STAR) unit, ensuring high-quality care for stroke and medical patients. Learn more about the STAR Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises nursing and technical personnel, including assessing staff competency, overseeing daily staffing and scheduling, evaluating performance, and coaching as needed.
  • Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
  • Serves as a role model, demonstrating clinical expertise and professional behavior.
  • Directs, mentors, and supports staff at all levels.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Identifies and implements strategies to enhance staff knowledge and professionalism.
  • Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements changes and system-wide improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required).
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (required within 5 years).
  • Three years of acute care clinical experience (required).
  • Leadership experience (preferred).
  • Appropriate clinical certification (required).

Pay

Hourly pay range: $52.97 – $84.75. The final salary will depend on individual factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time (80 hours per pay period) with a rotation between day and midnight shifts based on department needs.
