About the Role
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager in both clinical and administrative activities for the 29-bed Stroke Treatment & Recovery (STAR) unit, ensuring high-quality care for stroke and medical patients. Learn more about the STAR Unit.
Responsibilities
- Supervises nursing and technical personnel, including assessing staff competency, overseeing daily staffing and scheduling, evaluating performance, and coaching as needed.
- Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
- Serves as a role model, demonstrating clinical expertise and professional behavior.
- Directs, mentors, and supports staff at all levels.
- Develops, implements, and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Identifies and implements strategies to enhance staff knowledge and professionalism.
- Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements changes and system-wide improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required).
- Master’s degree in Nursing (required within 5 years).
- Three years of acute care clinical experience (required).
- Leadership experience (preferred).
- Appropriate clinical certification (required).

Pay
Hourly pay range: $52.97 – $84.75. The final salary will depend on individual factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time (80 hours per pay period) with a rotation between day and midnight shifts based on department needs.
