Assistant Nurse Instructor - LPN

Location: Fairport, NY 14450 – Eastern Monroe Career Center

Term: 10-month, full-time position starting September 2026

Salary range: $33,252 – $52,269 per school year (actual salary dependent on education, experience, and contract)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and energetic assistant teacher for our Health Careers program. This full-time, tenure-track position supports high school students in preparing for the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) exam while fostering the future workforce in the medical field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction for high school students in a career and technical education program in Health Careers, preparing them for the CNA exam.
• Oversee labs that provide hands-on, practical experience in CNA for high school students.
• Assist with implementing curriculum aligned with New York State secondary school standards and the New York State Department of Health (DOH).
• Arrange speakers, field trips, community service, and shadowing experiences for students.
• Work in a collaborative team environment that supports interdisciplinary learning and planning.

Requirements

• NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required.
• Minimum of two years of LPN experience, with at least one year in a nursing home or long-term care facility.
• Valid NYS Teaching Assistant certification or willingness to obtain it. See certification requirements.
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
