Assistant Mortgage Loan Consultant
Responsibilities
- Solicits quality loan applicants through various methods and media.
- Aids MLCs in gathering information related to residential real estate applications.
- Schedules appointments for MLCs or independently, ensuring they fit the bank’s and customer’s needs.
- Informs customers about the institution’s loan programs, underwriting guidelines, and applicable government regulations.
- Prepares and maintains loan applications and manages application documents.
- Prepares Loan Estimates in accordance with regulatory guidelines and bank policy.
- Answers incoming inquiries and resolves them, or consults with the MLC if necessary.
- Maintains and fosters relationships with realtors, attorneys, appraisers, applicants, and Mortgage Processing personnel.
- Attends loan closings on behalf of the MLC.
- Processes final documentation and loan tickets to initiate the booking process.
- Participates in community outreach programs to ensure the bank remains a partner to groups of low to moderate income (LMI) and those in a protected class.
- Maintains exceptional customer service by staying updated on lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
- An Associate's degree or equivalent is preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of residential real estate applications and loan programs.
- Understanding of regulatory guidelines and compliance policies.
