About the role

We are conducting a search for several full-time Classroom Assistants to support one of our new infant and toddler communities (ages 18 mos. - 3 years) on track to open this spring. Under the direction of the Lead Guide, you will help children fulfill their developmental potential in an authentically prepared, inspiring Montessori environment. This position is Monday - Friday with start times ranging from 8:00am - 9:30am and end times ranging from 5:00pm - 6:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Help children fulfill their developmental potential in an authentically prepared, inspiring Montessori environment
• Support the Lead Guide in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom atmosphere
• Assist with daily activities including meal preparation, diaper changes, and outdoor play
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training provided by Discovery

Requirements

• Have earned at least 12 college-level early childhood education credits (at least 3 of the 12 credits must be in infant/toddler care and development)
• Enjoy working with young children
• Are warm, joyful, and professional
• Have valid CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to become certified before employment)
• Have negative TB test results within the last 12 months (or willingness to take a TB test which show negative results before your first day of employment)
• Be a US citizen or green card holder

Qualifications

• Have experience working in high-quality preschools, particularly authentic Montessori preschools
• Speak other languages
• Have interests that you enjoy sharing with children such as music, art, science, gardening, and movement
