Assistant Mill Chemist

Job Description

Monitor chemical dosing, Manage Chemical inventory and Lab equipment. Monitors the specifications of the Paper product and be a responsible member of the Chemical and quality Dept. Assess and make judgment of any problems that may arise chemically within the Mill. Promotes all areas of safety and quality. Reports and discusses all matters that may be of concern to the Mill Chemist. Plays a crucial part for the Manufacturing Team. Will be on Call as per schedule.

Requirements

• BS in ChE or Paper Sciences
• Excellent communication Skills
• Previous manufacturing Skill is a Plus
• Basic computer skills

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, and talk or hear
• Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Sometimes lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
• Occasional exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; vibration
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
