Assistant Merchant (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Merchant to support our seasonal assortment strategies, product development, and merchandising initiatives. This role is ideal for an early-career merchandising professional with an analytical, trend-focused, and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support seasonal assortment planning, product selection, and style setup
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and customer insights
• Manage daily merchandising operations including samples, order tracking, meeting preparation, and system updates
• Possess strong Excel skills and comfort working with data and retail systems
• Maintain product data accuracy across merchandising systems
• Stay ahead of fashion trends and customer preferences to influence product decisions

Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience in retail merchandising, buying, or a related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, or related discipline preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Analytical mindset with an understanding of retail math and sales performance
• Collaborative communicator who can influence and partner across teams
