Assistant Merchandiser, Men's Layers

About the role

We are seeking a Men’s Assistant of Layers to manage the development and execution of the seasonal assortment. This individual will be responsible for executing the brand product strategy and helping to establish the Men’s Layers assortment, identifying new growth opportunities across all seasonal product classifications. To be effective in this role, the individual must have merchandising experience in the performance apparel space, Vuori’s mission, and embody the brand’s values. This role is onsite 5 days a week in our Carlsbad, CA HQ.

Responsibilities

• Support developing comprehensive assortment strategies across E-comm, Store, Wholesale, and international channels to deliver high growth expectations.
• Learn the fundamentals of editing a line and develop a point of view.
• Aid in building seasonal & annual line plan for Men’s Layers.
• Help support partnership with planning team on seasonal investment strategy and monthly buy process.
• Support the merchandising strategy by pulling applicable historical and current data.
• Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape and impart key insights into line development.
• Help prepare reports on business results and present actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Create and manage all seasonal assortment tools for Layers.
• Conduct surveys and focus groups to gain a better understanding of the Vuori Layers customer.
• Assist with key meeting preparation, including but not limited to sample management, deck preparation, etc.
• Create strong partnerships among cross-functional teams including Planning, Allocation, Design, Product Development, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Visual Merchandising.
• Create seasonal Product Knowledge info for stores and ecommerce merchandising teams.
• Act as cross departmental liaison, creating a consistent flow of communication throughout the organization.
• Support maintenance of Men’s divisional tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• 1+ years of merchandising experience.
• Performance apparel preferred.
• Strong eye for trend right product that aligns with the brand aesthetic.
• Must be organized, attentive to detail, and able to multi-task.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Understanding of retail math.
• Experience recapping business on a regular basis and presenting actionable insights to Sr. Leadership.
• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel) and Adobe Suite (Illustrator).
• Ability to travel domestically when necessary.
• Candidates must live in the San Diego area.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $64,000 per year - $75,000 per year.
