Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Men's Basketball Coach to join our team in the Educational Services industry. As an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, practice planning, game preparation, and player development. You will work closely with student-athletes to ensure their academic and athletic success while upholding our institution's values and mission.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, practice planning, game preparation, and player development.
• Provide individual and group instruction to student-athletes on the fundamentals of basketball.
• Maintain a positive and professional image for the program and the institution.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and provide support as needed.
• Aid in planning and execution of team travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. At least two years of coaching experience at the high school or college level. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field. Experience recruiting and retaining high-level student-athletes. Experience with video editing and statistical analysis software. Certification from a recognized coaching organization. Experience working in a collegiate athletic department.
