Assistant Meat/Seafood Manager

About the role

Join our winning team at Sprouts Farmers Market as an Assistant Meat Manager. Help customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service, managing and leading a busy team, and ensuring the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Order and control inventory, manage product quality, and supervise the Meat & Seafood team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Lead a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers.
• Hire, train, and develop the Meat & Seafood team.
• Manage and enforce the “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” Programs.
• Unload and sort store deliveries, operate and maintain meat & seafood equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience, proven leadership experience, and 2-3 years of grocery retail experience in Meat department processes and procedures is preferred.
• Dependable and reliable, able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, positive attitude, and ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills, ability to take direction, and team environment.
• Standing for up to 4 hours continuously, walking up to 2 miles per 8 hours, lifting/carrying up to 90 lbs., operating heavy machinery, and performing general housekeeping tasks.
• Good vision for sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Ability to work inside a temperature-controlled area.
