Assistant Meat Manager

JOB DETAILS Job Summary The Assistant Meat Manager supports the overall operation of the meat department, ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, and consistent execution of company standards. This role assists in supervising department staff and maintaining efficient daily operations. Key Responsibilities Support daily operations of the meat department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentationAssist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through proper stock control and product rotationEnsure all meat products are handled and stored in accordance with company and food safety standardsMonitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable itemsSupport and supervise department staff to ensure adherence to company proceduresAssist with merchandising, signage, and product displaysSupport receiving processes by verifying incoming product for quality and accuracyMaintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies Qualifications Previous experience in meat, grocery, retail, or warehouse operationsStrong understanding of product handling and inventory practicesAbility to identify product quality issues and maintain safety standardsExperience working in a fast-paced, team environmentStrong organizational and communication skillsBasic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools Preferred Qualifications Experience in a supervisory or lead roleFamiliarity with perishable inventory and food safety standardsBackground in high-volume retail or wholesale environments Work Environment / Expectations Primarily warehouse or retail environment with temperature-controlled areas. Requires standing, walking, and handling products for extended periods. May require schedule flexibility based on department needs.
