About the role
The Assistant Manager, Retail & Operations will serve as a key support in the execution and operations of new retail concepts, including stores, temps & pop-ups, and concessions, always considering a luxury, omnichannel client experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain store opening operations tracker with key dates & deliverables, with regular updates to Retail & Operations team.
- Provide post-opening hyper care by supporting all retail tasks on site including strengthening boutique team expertise in operating retail systems and technologies, as well as understanding of boutique policies and procedures.
- Support field team in coordinating repairs, maintenance, visual merchandising changes, security coverage.
- Work in boutiques 1 week a month, be a point of contact for store staff; help to gather and raise retail feedback to cross-functional teams.
- Monitor all fields communication.
- Manage supply, hospitality, packaging, and tools ordering for stores.
- Ensure the allocation across all stores on a consistent basis, to ensure image is always to standard.
- Manage opening orders of sellable and non-sellable product for stores and gratis for Retail Innovation team.
- Promote a positive, united work environment within the team and across departments while challenging status quo.
- Support retail inventory needs, troubleshoot and coordinate technology and data issues.
- Lead mobile point of sale operations for out-of-boutique activations (events, pop ups, masterclasses).
- Coordinate and optimize remote D2C door to door sale process by leveraging existing technology, Supply Chain and vendors (systems, local messengers, white glove, UPS).
- Own and manage digital retail resource sites in 2 languages (EN, FR), improve UX/UI for web and mobile pages, linking site with other sites or help desk.
- Digitalize operational contents and create end-to-end digital solutions to processes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of retail operations experience, ideally with experience in beauty and fragrances, vertical retail, D2C, and / or luxury fashion environment.
- Experience in leveraging advanced analytics to optimize operational processes and visibility.
- Familiarity with retail inventory management, luxury supply chain and related software.
- Knowledge of data architecture, data flow, and UAT (user acceptance test).
- Experience in digitalizing end-to-end processes, driving efficiencies through analytics and technology.
- Expertise in POS & inventory management systems, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to maintain composure and remain solutions-oriented even in high-pressure, ambiguous situations.
- Ability to distinguish critical issues, dependencies, and risks and demonstrate flexibility when prioritizing.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to wear multiple hats and be hands-on and in the details.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Sense of urgency is critical.
- Self-starter, ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for their work.
- Passion for the beauty and fragrances industry, competitive landscape & trends.
- Experience working with a foreign parent company a plus.
