About the role
The Assistant Resale Store Manager will assist the Foundation Management in developing and implementing an annual business plan and budget for the Resale Stores. They will coordinate the procurement of merchandise, manage day-to-day operations, and recruit and train volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Assist Foundation Management in the development and implementation of an annual business plan and budget for the Resale Stores
- Coordinating the procurement of merchandise, including donations and gifts
- Managing day-to-day operations of the Resale Store
- Analyzing, identifying, and responding to volunteer needs
- Recruiting Resale Store volunteers according to various job descriptions
- Cooking volunteer training and support
- Planning, promoting, and evaluating sales promotions, trending analysis, problem resolution, store inspections, volunteer utilization, profitability, and overall operation of the Resale Stores
- Adhering to driver safety guidelines
Requirements
- Educational background: Associate’s degree from a two-year college, or equivalent combination of experience
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in retail management and marketing, preferably in the thrift industry, consignment, or used merchandise sales
- Lifting/carrying capacity: Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds or more
- Organizational skills: Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Volunteer management: Ability to use Volgistics database preferred
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Teamwork: Ability to work as a team member with supervisors, volunteers, and the community
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and provide proof of automobile insurance
Qualifications
- Must be flexible to commute between the Venice and Sarasota Resale Stores

- Microsoft Office and Outlook proficiency
- Volgistics database knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as a team member with supervisors, volunteers, and the community
- Reliable transportation
