Assistant Manager - Optical

About the role

The Assistant Eyeglass Manager oversees and achieves profit, sales, and performance goals. They manage the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines. They also convey a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize the eyeglass department for efficiency and compliance with company policies.
• Ensure quality standards are met by reviewing remakes and enforcing policies.
• Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office for store reporting.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates (in some stores the Receptionist) to ensure timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Aid the General Manager in forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining a high-caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience, with supervising experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
• Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) for managing teams.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
