Main Responsibilities And Duties
- Collaborate with the Business Development team on new business opportunities, including prospect tracking, pipeline reporting, and follow-up coordination.
- Lead or help lead calls with asset managers, insurance companies, insurance brokers, and other external stakeholders; prepare agendas, notes, and follow-up items as needed.
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for client inquiries and requests, escalating appropriately while maintaining a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism.
- Draft and review client-facing communications, including investor letters, fund updates, meeting materials, and internal summaries for management.
- Review fund offering memoranda and related fund documents to identify, understand, and summarize key terms relevant to clients, internal teams, and business development initiatives.
- Calculate, review, and explain incentive fee waterfalls or related fee examples when requested, coordinating with internal subject matter experts as needed.
- Maintain CRM/database records and produce prospecting, pipeline, and relationship management reports for senior management.
- Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of investor meetings, senior management presentations, conferences, and client events.
- Help supervise, mentor, and delegate work to junior team members; review work product and support their development through clear direction and feedback.
- Maintain and improve operational protocols and project plans for client-specific initiatives across departments.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in business development, investor relations, client service, fund administration, asset management, insurance, or a related financial services role.
- Prior management, supervisory, or team lead experience is a plus, as this role will help guide two junior employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to lead external calls and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
- Strong reading comprehension and ability to review fund offering memoranda, legal documents, and other technical materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfort with financial concepts and calculations, including the ability to calculate incentive fee waterfalls when asked.
- Organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented, with strong multitasking and project management skills.
- Good attitude, flexibility, and willingness to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.
- Strong PC-related skills, including Microsoft SharePoint, Salesforce, and other software applications, preferred but not required.
- Broad understanding of the financial industry preferred, but not required.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and demands in a fast-paced working environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for business needs.
