Assistant Manager Nutrition Services - Sunrise Park

Position Summary
Performs intermediate semiskilled work preparing, cooking and serving food in accordance with the menu, leads student workers in cleaning and maintaining the kitchen, handles duties of the day-to-day kitchen operation, performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Assists with daily activities and operations, including joint agreement meals, vended meals, and on-site programming
- Inventories, orders, and receives food and supplies
- Accepts funds for meal payments, enters daily deposits
- Oversees point of sale computer system
- Prepares and serves foodstuffs in accordance to menu
- Sets up serving line including utensils, condiments, napkins, etc.
- Washes pots, pans, kettles and other cooking utensils
- Maintains production and day-end paperwork
- Maintains food safety, kitchen cleanliness and related paperwork
- Demonstrates excellent customer service to students, staff, parents, visitors and the general public
- Performs other duties as assigned

Food Safety
The Nutrition Services team values high standards, attention to detail, and the health and well-being of our students. Food safety is our most important priority; ensuring that every meal is served safe, wholesome and with care. All employees are required to take a sanitation course upon hire and at least every 3 years.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Moderate experience working in a food service role
Special Requirements
- School Nutrition Association (SNA) Level 3 certification within one (1) year of hire
- Sanitation and Safety Course through the MN Department of Health or Institute of Child Nutrition is required at least every 3 years
- Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification preferred

Pay
Starting at $24.30 with potential experience and certification level increases.
School Nutrition Association Level III - $0.80 per hour (Required within 1 year of hire)
School Nutrition Association Level IV - $1.05 per hour
Schedule
Work Week: 6.5 hours/day, approximately 7:00 am - 1:30 pm, approximately 220 days per year, including summer months based on annual calendar.
