About the role

We are currently seeking a full-time Affordable Housing Assistant Manager to join our team, specifically focused on working with seniors. Knowledge of HUD policies and procedures governing subsidized elderly housing and recertification including experience working with the elderly, nonprofit, or the property management experience is a plus. If you have a passion for working with seniors, are organized, detail-oriented, and have strong communication skills, this position could be a great fit for you. We value your ability to connect with residents, manage daily operations, and contribute to creating a supportive and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating efforts between Property Management, Resident Services, and Ancillary Services to support residents
  • Ensures consistency with residents on all matters in accordance with Fair Housing Laws
  • Required to submit monthly reports to management

Requirements

We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager serving the Greater New Orleans area. With almost 20 years of development experience and over 1,700 residential units developed to date, Providence has taken over the property management functions of Christopher Homes, Inc. and is proud to add their 60 year history of excellence to our team managing over 2,400 senior affordable apartments. We focus on the production and preservation of affordable housing and empowering strong communities.

Qualifications

  • A passion for working with seniors and creating a positive, supportive environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using computers and property management software
  • Reliable, adaptable, and ready to handle occasional on-call responsibilities
  • Prior experience in property management or a related field (preferred but not required)

Pay

This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call responsibilities for emergencies. While most of your workday will be during regular business hours, there may be times when you'll need to respond to urgent situations outside of these hours to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. Flexibility and responsiveness are key to this role.
