Assistant Manager, Marketing
About the role
Along with marketing management, is responsible for managing and developing (along with Senior Marketing Manager) product launches and product marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Helps manage social media
- Collaborates with market research companies on designing and analyzing market research
- Updates databases
- Collaborates with sales and product teams
- Conducts competitor analysis to support product strategies and drive sales
- Maintains marketing calendars
- Updates databases
- Handles general administrative duties
- Develops marketing programs supporting new products and line-extension launches
- Develops seasonal and shopping related promotional and campaign plans
- Ensures marketing collateral is up to date and readily available
- Works with 3rd party vendors to execute sampling programs to launch new products
- Coordinates and collaborates with internal teams and external vendors or agencies
- Assists with client and customer communication
- Potentially presents to buyers at annual meetings
- Works closely with outside agencies regarding marketing initiatives
- Communicates with cross-functional teams to develop and execute "Go to Market" calendar
- Develops and executes successful marketing plans and programs that drive growth
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Associate degree or equivalent training + minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or University degree + minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge and Skills: Detailed knowledge of operations and procedures to resolve straightforward issues, good understanding of how other sectors of business interplay and affect the department, provides professional services using standard procedure and specific knowledge, problem solving and complexity, identifies and resolves immediate problems affecting team, researches and analyzes data from familiar areas to determine appropriate actions, updates or modifies working methods in own role based on defined procedures, may be required to exercise judgement in the interpretation of policies and procedures, leadership, planning, and organizing, supervises and coordinates efficient use of resources, leads operational team members, ensures achievement of results on a short-term basis, organizes most aspects of own work according to pre-established deadlines and priorities, works collaboratively with team members to deliver outputs, communication, provides guidance, advice and answers to members of the team, regularly trains or acts as a resource, provides information of a specialized nature and when requested, interpretation through circumscribed research, impact of decisions, day-to-day decisions affect the operational and/or sales effectiveness of the team, first point of contact for technical input or escalation to resolve immediate issues, operates with standardized practices and processes, may have a direct impact on the delivery of services to others, typically supervision of progress and results, decisions and actions taken mostly impact a unique location or unit, additional skills, experience in the apparel industry preferred, foundational understanding of marketing principles (especially product marketing and retail/shopper marketing), social media and digital marketing required, ability to travel as needed as needed for customer meetings, activations, and quarterly meetings (including international travel to Barbados), proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing plans and programs that drive growth, strong communication (written and verbal), organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, ability to identify and resolve immediate problems affecting team, strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ability to work in a team-based environment while self-managing with an entrepreneurial spirit, ability to organize most aspects of own work according to pre-established deadlines and priorities, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Canva, and familiarity with marketing databases and content management systems, hearing is required in order to hear instructions, receive information from various sources, and understand safety warnings, vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data, and formulate visual presentations
