Assistant Manager in Training (Days)

About the role

The Assistant Manager II position offers a starting wage of $20/hr. The schedule varies depending on the needs of the store, typically from Sunday to Saturday, with shifts ranging from morning to night.

Responsibilities

• Drives the sales and gross profit goals for the store
• Reviews P&L and expense reports for business opportunities
• Safeguards the delivery of continuous operational and financial improvements within the store
• Ensures every customer has a positive shopping experience
• Supports Merchandising, Operations, Customer Service, and Human Resources
• Manages the Inventory Control process to ensure appropriate inventory levels
• Develops and implements new processes and procedures
• Purchases store equipment and supplies
• Trains Shift Manager and Inventory Control Specialist and all new store associates
• Supervises and develops opportunities for associates in assigned areas
• Supports the development of creative plans to increase store sales, including implementing planned sales promotion activities
• Affords assistance with store expense control and payroll optimization
• Staffs, trains, and assists in the supervision of all Store Associates, Shift Managers, and Inventory Control Specialists
• Prepares work schedules and ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures, as well as food safety rules and regulations
• Conducts field sales meetings with new and existing customers
• Acts as Store Manager in Manager's absence
• Recognizes and celebrates successful moments

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Fluency in English; speak, read, and write
• Able to stock merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and follow-through skills
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and financial analysis skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Open to promotional relocation in the Southwestern United States
• Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
