About the role
Supports the progress and day-to-day management of all Global Product Marketing programs (e.g., innovation, assortment and pricing strategy, global promotional initiatives, and development of the global marketing calendar). Collaborates with and supports leaders of Global Marketing, Product Marketing, and Cross-Functional teams to identify and develop product strategies that drive sales growth, profitability, brand equity, and competitive position.
Responsibilities
- Marketing Programs
- Execute innovative product development and pipeline strategy in support of the brand’s strategic direction and priorities, informed by identification of recruitment and loyalty drivers.
- With oversight of the Director, own product marketing briefs from Concept stage to execution and/or hand-off.
- Serve as project manager for marketing stage gates and deliverables on programs, consistently communicating key milestones to the team and cross-functional partners.
- Develop and demonstrate a deep understanding of NPL processes and workstreams beyond Marketing (e.g., packaging, supply chain/sourcing, creative/design).
- Partner with the Director on management of program financials, including COGS (from concept to feasibility to final approval) and global forecasting guidelines (in partnership with GBP).
- For GPM projects, partner with the Director and VP to present program strategies and marketing briefs to brand leadership, regional partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Act as an authoritative source for all program information, with a critical focus on accuracy and clarity in all key communications, particularly between Global and Regional levels.
- Proactively communicate important program updates to brand/team/regional leaders with appropriate urgency.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships to efficiently keep initiatives moving forward on schedule and on budget.
- Business Analysis
- Own marketing-driven business reporting and analytics: on an ongoing basis (monthly/quarterly), manage the collection and analysis of brand shipment and sell-through data, as well as market/category data, for sharing within the brand.
- Collaborate with the GPM team to execute annual SKU rationalization and ongoing portfolio analysis exercises to maintain productivity and profitability for the brand.
- Partner with the Director on initial analysis of external product financials (e.g., sizing and pricing).
- Competitive Analysis
- In partnership with the GPM team, compile and analyze market intelligence/competitive information, making recommendations to seize market opportunities or adjust program elements as relevant.
- Manage regular sharing of information with the GPM and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of related work experience; haircare experience preferred.
- Self-starter with a keen ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, with strong follow-through and multitasking abilities.
- Demonstrates ownership of programs, embracing both big-picture objectives and execution details.
- Excellent communication, analytical, creative, and computer skills.
- Flexible and determined, with the ability to handle a multitude of projects under pressure.
- Excellent team player, with the ability to build, foster, and nurture strong relationships across cross-functional and affiliate teams.
