Position Summary
The Assistant Manager is a top-level performer who not only aspires to be the best part of the customer's day, but also the best part of their team member's day. The Assistant Manager has a positive attitude, willingness to take initiative, and great communication skills. They are a self-starter who can excel with limited supervision.
Essential Functions
- Maintains the Ziggi's "Standards of Service" - exceptional customer service, excellent drink/food quality, accuracy, consistency, and speed of service.
- Maintains great communication on a consistent basis with staff, the General Manager, Store Owners, and other designated contacts within the company.
- Helps onboard, and train new team members.
- Provides ongoing support, development, and coaching for all team members.
- Maintains a safe and secure working environment for employees.
- Places weekly orders with vendors.
- Puts together bank deposits.
- Enters invoices into QuickBooks.
- Maintains store to meet operational standards to ensure optimal cleanliness, product stock, and organization.
- Ensures the store is always within compliance of all health code and food safety requirements.
- Addresses any customer complaints that may arise in the absence of the General or Assistant Managers, corrects the issue, and relays any incidents to their General and Assistant Managers.
- Safeguards compliance to policies and procedures and reports concerns to the General Manager.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good analytical and math skills to create and analyze reports, sales statistics and spreadsheets.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to work with teams.
- Great attention to detail for purposes of erecting attractive marketing displays, arranging merchandise and maintaining store appearance.
- Able to perform complex duties requiring discretion and independence of action.
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.
- Able to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Able to perform varied administrative tasks; determine relative importance of each, set deadlines and complete projects accordingly.
- Able to apply appropriate decision-making within scope of work procedures.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Flexible in hours worked, including holidays and weekends.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Demands
- The employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach and lift with arms, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee is required to frequently lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications
- Some level of management experience - prior assistant manager or shift lead level experience - preferred.
- Prior experience in a food service or retail environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Flexible schedule to work weekends, holidays, and day shifts.
