Assistant Manager
About the Role
As an Assistant Manager, you are responsible for assisting the operation of a single store. This includes hiring, managing, and directing associates to achieve financial goals and ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences. You will receive 3 or more weeks of paid store leadership training to prepare you for success.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of a single Panda Express store
- Hire, manage, and direct associates to meet financial goals
- Ensure delivery of exceptional guest experiences
- Participate in a paid Store Management Leadership Training program (3+ weeks)
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Must be flexible to relocate to a store within a 50-mile radius of your home
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including opening/closing shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
- Serve Safe certification (Food Safety)
Work Environment
While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam tables and food vapors. Workspace is restricted, and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods. Key physical demands include:
- Preparing hot and cold foods, using kitchen equipment (e.g., Chinese cook knife), and working quickly without losing accuracy
- Lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for up to four hours, and reaching across countertops (36 inches high)
- Working in hot, noisy kitchens with limited storage space and high shelving
- Adapting to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, managing conflicts, and communicating effectively
