About the role
Indus Management Group is a Houston-based property management company specializing in renovating and restoring distressed multifamily properties. With over 10,000 units under management across 38 apartment complexes, we focus on Class B & C properties, transforming distressed assets into uplifted communities.
Responsibilities
- Serves as Second-in-Command for the property in the absence of the Property Manager
- Assists with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of onsite employees
- Oversees administration of accounting functions for the property, including maintenance of financial records and resident ledgers
- Communicates with all residents and ensures delinquency is collected in a timely manner through regular notices, lockouts, and evictions as required
- Conducts financial move-outs by walking apartments and ensuring deposits are effectively processed
- Processes all deposit and refund requests by collaborating with the corporate office for execution
- Responds to inquiries from prospects and current residents regarding property services, accounts, etc.
- Leads make-readies process and walks units to ensure turnover is completed in a timely fashion
- Manages maintenance department and coordinates work order requests with appropriate staff or vendors
- Monitors rehab projects on property and ensures timely execution
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum two (2) years of related property management experience with multifamily properties
- Valid State Driver’s License
Skills
- English/Spanish fluency
- Effective interpersonal relationships, communications, and customer service skills
- Technologically savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience using property management software (proficiency with Entrata is a plus)
- Demonstrates the ability to lead onsite property management employees
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and city regulations involving Fair Housing, health and safety policies, and other aspects of residential and multifamily property management
