Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
- Aid store manager in promoting an aggressive sales culture with an intense focus on superior customer service.
- Maintain a highly motivated team by assisting the store manager in hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and firing of team members; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results.
- Maintain professionalism and positive store morale.
- Aid store manager in executing and performing all store job responsibilities through key associates or own actions.
- Schedule and assign employees to complete store operational requirements.
- Provide feedback to the office regarding store performance.
- Achieve financial objectives by assisting the store manager in preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with actual and potential customers.
- Establish relationships and support local community groups consistent with company values.
- Solicit customers to sign up for Family Farm and Home programs, such as loyalty programs, extended warranties, financing, and item of the month.
- Manage and protect all inventory and company assets in accordance with company policy against theft and damage.
- Verify merchandise is received, stored, and merchandised in all departments according to established operational and safety procedures.
- Protect team members and customers while maintaining the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements and providing a safe and clean store environment.
- Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
- Maintain consistent operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
Assistant Store Manager Requirements
- Demonstrate excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Manage with limited supervision.
- Show good oral/written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, vendors, and other associates.
- Understand aggressive customer service and be team-oriented.
- Show good management and organizational skills.
- Be able to understand and interpret data presented in statistical or numerical form and use it effectively in assessing and coordinating merchandise and operational aspects of store operations.
- Be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Be able to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store.
- Be able to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
