About the role
LubeZone is seeking an Assistant Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced shop environment, can lead a crew, impress drivers, and turn a routine oil change into a larger ticket. This role combines operational oversight with direct sales responsibility, offering the opportunity to earn well above base pay through sales spiffs and performance incentives.
Responsibilities

- Build customer relationships: greet drivers, keep wait times short, and resolve concerns and complaints on the spot.
- Back up the Location Manager: step in to run the location when the Location Manager is away.
- Keep the schedule covered: help build work schedules, track paid time off and absences to ensure bays are always staffed.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness: uphold a safe, respectful, and healthy work environment and report safety incidents immediately.
- Handle the details: support inventory, stocking, work order accuracy, and end‑of‑shift wrap‑up.
- Pitch in on the floor: jump in on services when the bays get busy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in a supervisor, shift lead, or assistant manager role in retail, automotive service, quick lube, or a similar fast‑paced customer‑focused business.
- A proven record in sales: hitting goals, upselling, or growing average ticket size.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to calmly resolve customer problems and complaints.
- Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a shop environment and ready to jump in on the floor when it’s busy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with class 6, 7, and 8 semi‑truck maintenance or lubrication.

- 401(k) with company match.
- Life and disability insurance.

- Overall compensation range noted as $20.00–$23.00 per hour.
