Assistant Manager

About the Role

The Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and a financially successful club. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, with a schedule that may exceed 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, including nights, weekends, holidays, and potential travel to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed individual sales goals and contribute to club monthly and yearly goals.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing staff, including Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
• Provide backup support to the Club Manager and assist with staff management, including scheduling and supervision.
• Oversee member service to ensure staff provides a superior customer experience at all times.
• Resolve or escalate employee issues or concerns.
• Handle front desk activities, including answering phones, checking members into the system, new member sign-ups, and conducting tours for prospective members.
• Facilitate all member requests, issues, and questions.
• Assist in overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
• Order supplies within a specific budget based on club requirements.
• Track and report statistics (weekly, monthly, and annually).
• Provide backup support for any absent employee.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Passion for helping others and commitment to excellent service.
• Previous management experience is preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
• Current CPR Certification preferred.
• High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Confident problem-solver.

Physical Demands

• Continual standing and moving throughout the club to accomplish tasks during shift.
• Continual communication in person or on the phone to exchange information during shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Occasional exposure to toxic chemicals during shift.
• Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
• Moving in different positions, including bending and twisting, to accomplish tasks.

Placement within the established pay range will be determined based on relevant skills, years and depth of experience, performance history, market competitiveness, and geographic economic conditions.
