Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager role oversees gym operations to ensure an exceptional "Judgement Free" member experience and financial success. Full-time position requiring flexibility with potential travel, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed individual sales goals and contribute to club goals.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing staff.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, guests, and staff.
• Manage staff and provide backup support to the Club Manager.
• Schedule and supervise staff.
• Member service oversight - Ensure staff provides superior customer experience.
• Resolve or escalate employee issues or concerns.
• Handle front desk activities including answering phones, checking members in, new member sign-ups, and facilitating requests.
• Oversee facility cleanliness and maintenance.
• Order supplies and track statistics and reports.
• Provide backup support for absent employees.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Passion for helping others and excellent service commitment.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Confident problem-solver.

Physical Demands

• Continual standing and moving throughout the club.
• Continuous communicating in person or on the phone.
• Lift up to 75 pounds.
• Encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
• Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
• Moving in different positions, including bending and twisting.

Pay

The Assistant Manager's pay range is determined based on relevant skills, years and depth of experience, performance history, market competitiveness, geographic economic conditions, such as cost of living and local wage benchmarks.
