About the role
The Assistant Manager assists with the overall administration of the gourmet restaurant operation. Ensures consistent, high-quality service standards are maintained and implements training programs to enhance the personalized guest experience. Manages scheduling, payroll, and employee relations.
Responsibilities
- Prepares schedules and staffing guides for the dining room.
- Maintains payroll costs within budget.
- Fulfills health and safety requirements.
- Develops and implements training programs for high-quality guest service.
- Accurately documents employee work history and prepares necessary paperwork.
- Takes restaurant reservations and ensures accurate booking levels.
- Collaborates with the Area Chef to maintain service and food quality standards.
- Ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Handles employee and guest concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Minimum of 3 years food and beverage supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to train, motivate, and coach in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to obtain all required permits.
- Must be able to work under stress and tolerate secondary smoke and high noise levels.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain consistent, high-quality guest service levels.
