About the role
An Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager, Shift Leaders, and Team. They take on the responsibilities of the Restaurant Manager in their absence, typically managing during shifts opposite the Restaurant Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead team meetings
- Oversee Brand Training Programs
- Schedule, train, validate, and certify team and shift lead staff
- Create and maintain a guest-focused culture in the restaurant
- Review guest feedback results and implement action plans to drive improvement
- Communicate restaurant priorities, goals, and results to restaurant team members
- Execute along with the Restaurant Manager on new product rollouts, including training, marketing, and sampling
- Maintain Point of Purchase (POP) in-store setup according to Brand standards
- Control costs to help maximize profitability
- Support the Restaurant Manager in completing weekly labor schedules to ensure all shifts are staffed to meet guest demand and service standards
- Assign staff and deploy as needed
- Support the Restaurant Manager in completing supplier and vendor orders
- Ensure the restaurant budget is met as determined by the franchisee
- Manage cash in the restaurant and ensure team members follow the franchisee's cash management policies
- Ensure the facility meets all standards and is rush-ready at all times
- Manage the performance appraisal process for the team and shift leads
- Coach team members to drive sales, improve profitability, and enhance guest satisfaction
- Understand and work towards meeting key performance indicators such as sales goals, labor and cost of goods percentages, and speed of service goals
Requirements
- Basic computer skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Basic math and financial management skills
- Previous leadership experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality
