About the Role

This position involves managing store operations, preparing products, processing orders, and delivering pizzas within a designated area. Team members must handle various physical tasks and maintain high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate all store equipment.
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
• Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
• Deliver pizzas and promotional materials (flyers, door hangers) to customers within a designated delivery area.
• Navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and private homes, while carrying product.
• Perform tasks requiring standing, walking, lifting, pushing, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, and driving.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.
• Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the delivery area.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
• Strong communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct monetary change.
• Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including use of a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Skills

• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills for order processing.
• Eye-hand coordination for tasks such as shaping pizza dough, using a pizza peel, and assembling boxes.
• Ability to grasp and manipulate tools, cans, phones, and pizza boxes.
• Far and near vision, depth perception, and ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
• Ability to work under stress, meet quality control standards, and analyze/compile data.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Most tasks performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
• Walking: Short distances for short durations, including between store and delivery vehicle.
• Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
• Lifting: Cases of ingredients/supplies up to 50 pounds, stacked onto shelves up to 72" high.
• Carrying: Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray), and pizzas/beverages during delivery.
• Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 pounds).
• Climbing: Stairs or ladders for maintenance, sign changes, or multi-story deliveries.
• Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station and front counter; repeated continuously.
• Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally for stocking shelves or cleaning low areas.
• Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like stocking, cleaning, or operating equipment.

Work Conditions

• Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions (e.g., when delivering or performing outside tasks).
• In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
• Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and fumes.
• Cramped quarters, including walk-in coolers.
• Hot surfaces/tools (oven temperatures up to 500°F or higher).
• Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.

Additional Details

• Orientation and on-the-job training provided.
• Use of tools/equipment such as pencils, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutters, and pizza peels.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, and make judgments/decisions.
