Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operations during your shift, including cost controls, inventory, cash management, and customer relations.
  • Set the example by adhering to all policies and procedures 100% of the time and ensuring your team does the same.
  • Manage staffing, paperwork, cost controls, cash handling, food management, scheduling, and store cleanliness.
  • Maintain perfect image and adherence to standards, deliver great customer service, and ensure attendance and punctuality.
  • Handle transportation to and from work, marketing efforts, and overall store profitability.
  • Operate all store equipment, stock ingredients, prepare product, and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory, complete associated paperwork, and clean equipment and facility daily.
  • For delivery roles: Deliver pizzas and flyers to customers within a designated area, requiring a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and access to an insured vehicle.

Requirements

  • Strong judgment, math skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and making correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including typing on a keyboard or touch screen.
  • Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the delivery area, including multi-story buildings and private homes.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks or deliveries.
  • In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or higher in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler), and hot surfaces/tools (up to 500°F or higher).
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts in the work environment.
  • Sensory requirements: Talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision for tasks, depth perception, and ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces. Far and night vision required for driving.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed standing, with work surfaces between 36" and 48" high.
  • Walking: Short distances for short durations; delivery personnel travel between the store, vehicle, and customer locations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Unloading bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck, stacking cases onto shelves up to 72" high. Carrying large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Moving trays on dollies (requiring up to 7.5 lbs of force).
  • Climbing: Navigating stairs or ladders for tasks like changing signs, washing walls, or maintenance. Delivery personnel may navigate five or more flights of stairs.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly, stocking ingredients) for 30-45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like turning oven controls, scooping ingredients, or answering phones.
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination for shaping dough, using a pizza peel, assembling boxes, and handling tools like the pizza cutter. Frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists.
  • Driving: Delivering pizzas within a designated area, requiring a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and access to an insured vehicle.
