Responsibilities

  • Oversee everything that happens during your shift, including cost controls, inventory, cash management, and customer relations.
  • Set the example by following all policies and procedures 100% of the time and ensuring your team does the same.
  • Manage staffing, paperwork, cost controls, cash handling, food management, scheduling, store image, customer service, attendance, transportation, cleanliness, marketing, and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Judgment, math skills, and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and making correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid, precise movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the delivery area, including multi-story buildings and private homes.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks or deliveries.
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or higher in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler), hot surfaces (ovens up to 500°F or higher), sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
  • Sensory requirements: verbal and hearing skills for phone use, near and mid-range vision for in-store tasks, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces. Far and night vision required for driving.
  • Temperament: ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, interact with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed standing, with work surfaces between 36" and 48" high.
  • Walking: Short distances for short durations; delivery personnel travel between the store, vehicle, and customer locations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Unload bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; lift cases from the floor to shelves up to 72" high. Carry large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
  • Climbing: Navigate stairs or ladders for tasks like changing signs or maintenance; delivery personnel may navigate five or more flights of stairs.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly, stocking ingredients, front counter tasks).
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuously in all directions (e.g., turning oven controls, stocking shelves, scooping ingredients, cleaning, answering phones).
  • Driving: Deliver pizzas within a designated area; may make several deliveries per shift. Requires a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination for tasks like shaping dough, using a pizza peel, cutting pizzas, assembling boxes, and handling tools (e.g., phones, calculators, pizza cutters).

General Duties for All Store Team Members

  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility daily.
  • Training provided on the job.

Delivery-Specific Duties

  • Deliver pizzas by car and to the customer’s door.
  • Distribute flyers and door hangers.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle.
