Assistant Maintenance

Job Description

The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for helping maintenance operations of the community, ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance. This role requires strong technical knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and pool operations (CPO certification preferred). The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor supports the maintenance team, ensures timely completion of work orders, preventative maintenance, and unit turns. Weekend rotations for emergency maintenance response are required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.
• EPA HVAC Certification required.
• CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 35 years multifamily maintenance experience, with at least 12 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to work weekends, evenings, and oncall shifts as required.
• Preferred (but not always required): Bilingual (English/Spanish), familiarity with OSHA standards and safe handling of cleaning supplies.
