Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up slotting, feed, and die-cut sections on the machine according to proper setup techniques.
- Aid the operator with other duties as needed.
- Maintain board quality by monitoring for issues such as loose liner, warp, dimensions, caliper, etc., and reporting any quality issues to the operator.
- Sort materials as necessary to enhance machine productivity.
- Be prepared to cross-train on other machines as needed.
- Be open to progressing to the position of operator, regardless of shift.
- Accurately and promptly complete necessary reports.
- Submit maintenance work orders to supervisors for needed repairs.
- Proactively maintain equipment and follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Aid operators in adhering to the production schedule.
- Recommend adjustments to optimize the schedule and meet cost, quality, and service goals.
- Report any scheduling issues to the Supervisor.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
- 6 months’ experience as a Flexo or DieCut Helper.
- 6 months’ experience in the Press and Finishing Departments.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
- Mathematical skills including reading a tape measure with speed and accuracy, calculating percentages, measurements, volume, and rates.
- Knowledge of high school-level math concepts.
- Reasoning ability to understand and carry out instructions, solve problems, and comprehend standardized situations.
- Technical skills in equipment design and capabilities, product layouts and production specifications, and product quality specifications and standards.
Skills
