Assistant Lead
About the role
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency, resolving issues, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Engage with teams to generate and implement continuous improvement suggestions.
- Make informed decisions and solve problems within the department, ensuring optimal manpower and addressing immediate issues.
- Manage employee issues, including scheduling, performance, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, and enforce safety protocols.
- Train and coach team members on proper work processes, safety, and other relevant topics.
- Audit team performance to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Communicate and collaborate with other departments to achieve project objectives.
- Perform departmental duties such as mixing, filling, shading, and warehouse operations.
- Assume responsibility as backup to the department lead when necessary.
- Utilize 5S and Continuous Improvement methodologies to drive process enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School degree required.
- Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
- Ability to operate motorized material handling equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, reach trucks, and scissor lifts.
- Competency and confidence in using applicable computerized systems like MS Office Excel, Outlook, Word, and SAP.
Compensation Philosophy
At Benjamin Moore, we offer a competitive base salary, performance-based annual raises, and bonuses. Our salary range is USD $28.20 - USD $34.35 /Hr., and the actual offer is determined based on various factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant considerations.
