Assistant Insurance Coordinator
Job Overview
FirstService Financial is in search of an Assistant Insurance Coordinator to manage the placement of insurance on behalf of its Condominium and Homeowner Association clients. Successful candidate will have 1-3 years of property and casualty insurance industry experience. Primarily responsible in assisting in the oversight and placement of association insurance to ensure the appropriate insurance coverage is in place at all times. Closely follow the steps of an insurance policy renewal timeline to obtain the appropriate underwriting information for insurance carriers to asses the risk and issue quotes. It is the Assistance Insurance Coordinator’s responsibility to minimize risk for both FirstService Residential and its Managed Associations through these job functions.
Responsibilities
- Administration and oversight of FirstService Insurance Library ensuring data is current and producing reports as required
- Monitoring Association insurance to ensure policies are in place and avoid lapses in coverage
- Implementation of FirstService Financial insurance program
- Consistent communication and gathering of information from brokers and agents
- Review proposals and policies to complete coverage & premium comparisons
- Maintaining databases for all Association insurance policy effective dates and coverage
- Communicate in writing and verbally with insurance agents, community managers and associates, vendors, as well as other association accounting personnel as needed
- Comply with all policies, procedures and regulations
- Complete all necessary paperwork (both electronically and in hardcopy) to ensure accurate records are maintained
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent related experience
- Property & Casualty insurance licensee a plus or ability to obtain license within first 6 months of employment
- Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance a plus
- Experience with Community Association Insurance a plus
- Demonstrates working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook and Word
- Ability to communicate effectively written and verbal
