Assistant Infant Teacher

About This Role

The Earthplace Preschool is hiring an Assistant Teacher for the infant classroom. The shift is from 10:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. This is a part-time position eligible for benefits.

What You'll Do

• Work as part of a team to set a positive tone for the classroom.
• Engage students in nature-based activities on 62 acres of wooded land, including hiking trails, a frog pond, meadows, streams, tree groves, vernal pools, and rock formations.
• Support children's learning through exploration, investigation, and experimentation.
• Guide infants and toddlers in developing physical and social skills, including sharing, thinking about others' feelings, and forming friendships.
• Change diapers, provide hugs, and snuggles as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• ECE courses and/or 2 years of experience working with toddlers and/or preschoolers.
• A passion and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young children and families.
• A hard-working, reliable attitude, and a desire to learn.
• A working knowledge of CT statutes and regulations, NAEYC criteria, and the CT ELDS.
• A positive attitude.
• Nice-to-haves include excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience with Tadpoles (application).

Benefits

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm.
• Full-time position eligible for benefits including paid time off, holidays, health, dental, life insurance, and reduced tuition rates for childcare if spaces are available.
• Paid hourly rate: $17/hour - $20/hour, based on experience and education level.
