About the role

The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions at Rushmore Crossing are integral to fulfilling our mission of providing the best shopping experience. These roles encompass a wide range of responsibilities including sales, merchandising, and operational tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Generation and Guest Service
    • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude
    • Eagerly answer questions about the store and merchandise
    • Recommend and locate merchandise based on Guest needs
    • Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items
    • Share product knowledge and sales education with the Team
    • Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions
    • Achieve personal and team sales goals
    • Provide exceptional service in key areas of the store
    • Coach and inspire Teammates to improve their sales presentations
  • Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
    • Recognize and coach recruiting opportunities
    • Create and maintain positive relationships with Teammates
    • Develop and lead new Teammates to meet Buckle’s standards
    • Execute actions from department calendars and track on the Weekly Delegation Worksheet
    • Support recruitment efforts and understand Buckle’s benefits
  • Visual Merchandise Management
    • Own and influence product through zone ownership
    • Execute and demonstrate new tools and videos
    • Communicate merchandising opportunities and solutions to Store Manager
    • Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed
    • Give informational store tours and create changes to improve store performance
  • Operations
    • Work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Utilize planner and complete Opening and Closing Checklists
    • Monitor inventory levels and handle emergencies in Store Manager’s absence
    • Understand and execute all policies regarding payments, returns, exchanges, and Loss Prevention
  • Supervisory and Leadership
    • Support and motivate Teammates
    • Oversee daily interviews and support Team Development
    • Handle schedule changes and cover shifts when needed
    • Administer Buckle Commitment to Success and understand the Buckle’s Code of Ethics

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; one to three months related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, product knowledge, strong organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a passion for customer service and product education.
