Job Summary
The Assistant Home Shopping Manager supports the Home Shopping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the eCommerce/Home Shopping department. This role assists with managing online order fulfillment, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining productivity standards, and supporting the recruitment, training, and development of department associates. The Assistant Home Shopping Manager assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Home Shopping Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in overseeing daily Home Shopping operations, including order fulfillment, staging, and customer pickup or delivery processes.
- Maintain workflow to ensure online orders are accurately selected, packed, and completed on time.
- Schedule and plan labor to meet operational and service level expectations.
- Maintain department equipment, handheld devices, and workstations.
- Implement company programs, promotions, and operational initiatives.
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service to online and in-store customers.
- Resolve customer concerns related to product availability, substitutions, order accuracy, and delivery or pickup issues.
- Promote customer satisfaction by ensuring high-quality order fulfillment and timely service.
- Monitor customer feedback and support continuous improvement efforts.
Leadership & Team Development
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing Home Shopping associates.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to improve productivity and quality standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and customer-focused work environment.
- Support performance management and accountability initiatives.
Order Fulfillment & Quality Standards
- Affirm online orders are selected accurately and meet company quality standards.
- Maintain product freshness, condition, and presentation when selecting customer orders.
- Minimize substitutions, shorts, and customer complaints through effective inventory awareness and communication.
- Support productivity goals and key performance indicators for the department.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, food safety standards, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all regulatory requirements related to order fulfillment and customer service operations.
Financial Performance
- Aid in achieving department sales, labor, and productivity goals.
- Monitor operational metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support efforts to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
