Assistant Girls Cross Country Coach - Albemarle High School

About the role

Season runs from July through November, with potential extension into indoor/outdoor track season. After school and weekend hours required.

Responsibilities

• Motivate athletes
• Help plan training sessions
• Communicate effectively with athletes and parents
• Organize and prepare practice schedules
• Develop discipline emphasizing teamwork and good sportsmanship
• Travel regularly with student-athletes to and from matches

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations
• Ability to develop and train AA student-athletes
• Personal skills reflecting positive relations with high school student-athletes, parents, and the community
• Extensive knowledge of principles of individual and team fundamentals of the sport
• Previous coaching experience required
• Cross country coaching/running experience helpful
