Assistant Girls Basketball Coach

Responsibilities

• Excels at teaching basketball fundamentals, strategies, and sportsmanship.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, travel, and related events.
• Attend and actively participate in all scheduled practices, contests (home and away), and team functions.
• Effectively plan practices, manage games, and conduct skill instruction.
• Monitor and enforce all eligibility, safety, and conduct requirements as established by IHSA, the school, and district policies.
• Chaperone and supervise athletes at all basketball events (including practices, contests, community gatherings, etc.), maintaining discipline and promoting a positive team environment.
• Maintain a safe environment and report injuries promptly to appropriate staff.
• Complete required paperwork, attendance logs, and communicate with parents and administration as needed.
• Attend coach meetings and required professional development as assigned by the athletic department.

Qualifications

• ISBE, ASEP, or NFHS certification required.
• Previous high school football coaching experience preferred.
