About the role
The Assistant Hotel General Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing all front desk operations and food and beverage services at the Home2 Suites in York, PA. This position requires a combination of managerial skills, customer service acumen, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Select, train, and develop front desk personnel, breakfast host/hostess, and security/night audit positions.
- Ensure fair and ethical treatment of all co-workers and maintain high morale and low turnover in all departments.
- Handle all normal tasks associated with front desk operations, including check-ins, checkouts, reservations, and problem resolution.
- Present a helpful, courteous, and friendly image to guests by speaking to them by name.
- Manage inventory control, replenishment, and physical appearance of food products.
- Maximize room revenue and occupancy levels through suggestive selling and analysis of forecast, cost, and revenue reports.
- Represent the hotel as the manager on duty during the General Manager's absence.
- Maintain a clean, pleasant, and professional image to guests and ensure timely receipt of all monies due to High Hotels.
- Support the General Manager in continuous improvement of front desk guest satisfaction scores and overall customer service.
- Coordinate Hilton Honors and third-party booking parties, and reconcile postings and reconciliations.
- Communicate effectively between shifts and handle bank reconciliations at the end of each shift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or restaurant management preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years hotel operations or restaurant management experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers, and provide strong leadership to hotel operations team.
- Strong organization, communication (verbal and written), and time management skills are essential.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Food Handler Certificate preferred.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus.
- Valid Driver's License required.

Schedule
This is a full-time position scheduled for five days per week, typically between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Candidates must have the flexibility to work every other weekend, with shifts ranging from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM. As needed, this role may also require coverage of alternative shifts, including 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, or 5:00 AM–12:00 PM.
