Assistant General Manager / Head Chef (Temporary Appointment)
About the role
The newly created position is a temporary appointment while the College evaluates long-term operational needs. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued success of campus dining services and play a key role in shaping the position.
Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house coordination.
- Act as Head Chef for all culinary operations including prep, execution, and delivery of meals in coordination with academic culinary program.
- Maintain high standards for food quality, customer service, cleanliness, and overall guest experience.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to staff and participating culinary students in a supportive learning environment.
- Aid in staff scheduling, training, and team leadership to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor inventory, supplies, and operational needs while supporting cost control efforts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including food safety standards.
- Serve as Manager on Duty as assigned, including opening and closing responsibilities.
- Support special events, campus partnerships, and restaurant programming as needed.
