About the role
As an Assistant General Manager at Walmart’s E-commerce Fulfillment Center, you will play a critical leadership role in launching and operating a state-of-the-art facility that delivers for millions of customers. You will partner with the General Manager to build a high-performing operation from the ground up, driving safety, quality, productivity, and associate engagement while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities
- Lead facility operations and support the successful launch and stabilization of a new fulfillment center, ensuring operational readiness and execution of key milestones.
- Drive daily operations across fulfillment, shipping, receiving, inventory management, and customer order processing.
- Execute business plans that achieve productivity, quality, service, and safety goals.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a diverse team of leaders and associates.
- Establish a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Provide clear direction, set performance expectations, and deliver ongoing feedback to support individual and team success.
- Create growth and development opportunities that help associates reach their full potential.
- Forecast labor needs and align staffing plans to meet changing business demands.
- Analyze operational metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions that improve performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to productivity, quality, cost, safety, and customer experience.
- Support the adoption of new technologies, systems, and best practices to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Champion a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
- Monitor adherence to quality, inventory control, security, and environmental programs.
- Investigate operational issues and partner with stakeholders to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain facility-wide compliance with Walmart logistics standards and applicable regulations.
- Monitor expenses, control costs, optimize resources, and manage asset utilization.
- Review operational and financial reports to identify opportunities for improvement and drive business results.
- Balance short-term execution with long-term strategic goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and business partners to achieve operational objectives.
- Serve as a facility ambassador by supporting Walmart-sponsored initiatives and engaging with local community organizations and events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management).
- Two years of experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
- OR two years of experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager including supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
- OR four years of experience in a senior management role in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with compliance, financial modeling and analysis, managing challenging workforce issues, modeling/forecasting, preparing and executing budgets, profit and loss accountability, supervising associates, Walmart Logistics Manager, and Walmart Logistics Systems.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $116,000.00 – $174,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) based on location and stock awards.
