About the role
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing the room and related area's operations of the Cambria Hotel New Orleans Downtown Warehouse District. They are responsible for achieving customer satisfaction, driving excellence in market reputation, and aligning with the hotel's strategic plans.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the hotel's operations to achieve customer satisfaction and financial goals.
- Manage the budget and expenses within approved limits.
- Implement company programs and manage operations according to federal and state laws and company policies.
- Resolve customer complaints and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Create a work environment that supports personal growth and development.
- Evaluate and support proper staffing levels and positions.
- Mentor and develop high potential talent.
- Support strategic planning and development of business initiatives.
- Ensure consistent and stabilized systems and processes for customers.
- Implement succession planning within each direct report.
- Look for more efficient and effective ways to provide services.
- Leverage technology and third parties where appropriate.
Requirements
- A four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organizations.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management fields.
- Working knowledge of other major areas and the ability to integrate and communicate that information.
- Ability to make decisions with only general policies and procedures for guidance.
- Highly developed communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guests, and corporate clients.
- Excellent speech and written skills for frequent communication.
- Excellent literacy skills for reports, policies, and procedures.
- Vision ability for visual inspections.
Skills
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and company policies.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex activities or information.
- Strong decision-making abilities with limited guidance.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
