About the role
We are seeking a Full-time General Manager to lead our Sam Jones BBQ operations in Greenville, NC. Founded in 2015, Sam Jones BBQ is an extension of the historic Skylight Inn BBQ, with a management team that has been together for nearly ten years.
Responsibilities
- Protect and uphold the traditional barbecue practices and heritage
- Manage the restaurant operations, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Build and maintain a strong team culture, fostering high morale and productivity
- Lead by example, demonstrating integrity and accountability
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and closing shifts
- Respect and adapt to the traditions while driving modern business practices
- Earn trust through consistent hard work and dedication
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in restaurant management
- Calm demeanor under pressure
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Strong coaching and communication skills
- Willingness to work evenings and closing shifts
- Respect for tradition while leading the team into the future

- Proven ability to build and maintain a positive team culture
- Experience managing multiple aspects of a restaurant operation
