Assistant General Manager
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to help our General Manager plan and oversee day-to-day operations at AC Marriott Burlington. When the General Manager is unavailable, you will supervise personnel, help with guests, and ensure that our guests have an excellent experience at the AC Marriott Burlington.
Responsibilities
- Assist General Manager in the day-to-day operation of the AC Marriott in maintaining all standards of guest service
- Interface with guests on a daily basis and resolve any concerns that may arise
- Collaborate with the General Manager and department heads to assess and adjust performance throughout the year to stay profitable
- Coordinate with corporate departments to ensure completion of all procedures, including accounting, accounts payable, etc.
- Facilitate the AC Marriott's human resources functions, such as HR administration, turnover control, staff motivation, and employee development and retention
- Ensure that all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as any AC Marriott policies and practices, are followed
- Ensure that each guest experience exceeds expectations
- Build and maintain working knowledge of restaurant operations
Requirements
- 2 or more years of experience working in the hospitality field
- Previous experience in a managerial role overseeing a team, preferably in hospitality
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form with guests, management, and associates
- Ability to understand and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
- Must be responsible and be able to work independently
- Ability to learn applicable systems (PMS, OTAs, POS, Microsoft Outlook + Suite, and more)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work onsite at the hotel location
- Ability to cover shifts as needed for associates
- Hours required: Full Time 40-50 hours per week for AM;Mid;PM;Overnight;Must be flexible;Weekends;Holidays;Schedule based on needs of the team, guests, and occupancy
- Proficiency in the English language
- Additional Preferred Skills/Qualities: Strong attention to detail, second language is a plus, preferably Spanish or French
Compensation
$75,000 Annually
