Assistant General Counsel, Commercial Alliances (Remote)

For our client, a leader in the Information Technology space, we are seeking a remote Assistant General Counsel for Commercial Alliances to provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management.

About the role

You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. Location: Remote – US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of attorneys to ensure alignment with strategic goals
• Actively negotiate and draft complex licensing and partnership agreements as needed
• Provide strategic legal counsel for business initiatives and go-to-market strategies
• Identify and analyze legal risks while proposing practical solutions to facilitate deal closure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop processes and drive partner agreements
• Communicate complex legal issues effectively to senior executives and partners

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including 3 years in a leadership role in-house
• Experience negotiating and drafting complex channel and partner agreements
• Familiarity with cloud marketplace contracting structures (e.g., AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• Ability to scale legal resources in a high-growth environment and drive team use of AI tools
• Experience managing 2-5 attorneys in a player/coach model
• Strong business acumen to balance legal risks with business goals
• Active membership in good standing with a state bar and a JD from an accredited law school

Pay

$210,000 – $300,000 annually
