Assistant General Counsel, Brand
About the role
We have a current opening for an Assistant General Counsel, Brand and are actively reviewing resumes.
Responsibilities
- Support marketing, advertising, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance for brand initiatives throughout North America (U.S., Canada, Caribbean).
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, such as agency services agreements, statements of work, sponsorship programs, promotions, media agreements, and brand use agreements.
- Review advertising and promotional materials, including point of sale materials, coupons, press releases, contests, websites, digital and eCommerce content, social media, print, television, and other mediums.
- Assess and counsel on substantiation for product claims.
- Partner with leadership teams to align business objectives with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop best practices and compliance programs to protect Ferrero’s reputation and assets, and build and deliver trainings to business teams on a variety of marketing law topics.
- Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, industrial, finance, P&O, and other teams to enable compliant business operations.
Requirements
- A strategic, business-oriented lawyer who combines deep legal expertise with strong commercial acumen, and the ability to influence decision-making at the highest levels.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience as in-house counsel or in a leading law firm, with a focus on advising senior management and shaping legal strategy.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution and licensed to practice in New Jersey (or willing to obtain an in-house limited license).
- Background in Advertising & Marketing Law, Intellectual Property, Food Law, and Corporate Law.
- Ability to anticipate risks, design compliance frameworks, and align legal solutions with business objectives across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing outcomes in a complex, matrixed organization.
Qualifications
The base salary range for this position is $137,488 - $183,318 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.

Schedule
This is a hybrid role - 3 days working from our North America Corporate HQ in Parsippany, NJ and 2 days remotely.
