About the role

The assistant football coach will assist the head coach in the daily operations and overall administration of the football program. They will also provide an excellent, transformative student-athlete experience, demonstrate positive progress in competitive standing in the Presidents Athletic Conference, and recruit student-athletes to the college.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the practice organization and game day coaching.
  • Coach, develop, and lead their own position group (likely running backs).
  • Coordinate the recruitment of student-athletes, including managing a specific recruiting territory.
  • Assist with operational duties as directed by the head coach (e.g., game day travel, equipment management and inventory).
  • Participate in offensive game planning, scouting, and film analysis.
  • Provide on-field instruction and mentorship to student-athletes.
  • Organize and conduct position group meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the head coach.

Requirements

  • Previous collegiate playing and/or coaching experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Prioritize candidates with offensive coaching/playing experience and recruiting coordinating and operations experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
